Your door could be chiming because your door is coming open each time you turn. You should have your door checked to ensure it is closing completely.
im not sure if its the same as on mine (2000 ) but it is located behind the panel to the left of the emergency brake but once i disconnected it the radio no longer shuts off when opening the door
Locate the door chime...Locate the 1 bolt that holds the door chime. Pull down the chime.Use a flat screwdriver to release the clip that holds the casing and the plug-in.Remove the plug-in .Now the door chime will not bother you anymore :)

I have a 2002 Tahoe. With a flat blade screwdriver, I push the door catch down as if it was closed. When ready to close door , pull outside door handle and push catch up again.
