Poland is the developed country, a member of the European Union. It's not "rich" as Switzerland or Norway and it faced many problems after the collapse of communism in 1989, but now it has quite stable economy. GDP (PPP) per capita is $18,705 and GDP (nominal) per capita is $11,521 which gives Poland 45th place in the world.
Poland was a communist country until 1989.
Yes since Poland pulled out from communism in the early 1980's
Poland was under various forms of foreign control for much of its history. In the 18th century, it was divided and controlled by Austria, Prussia, and Russia in a process known as the Partitions of Poland. It regained independence after World War I but was subsequently occupied by Nazi Germany during World War II. After the war, Poland came under Soviet influence and became part of the Eastern Bloc until the fall of communism in 1989.
Since Poland has regained its independence in 1989 there are many changes taking place. These changes are to observe in many fields: economy(transition from command economy into free market), EU member, letting alone social changes.
No, since 1989 Poland is no longer run under communism.
Communism means a classless stateless society based on production for use. No prices, no wages, no money, hence no economy.

Poland was "occupied" by soviets since 1945, (after UK and USA decided not to interfere in "privat" affairs of USSR and left former ally alone). The "occupation" and a communism period in Poland ends in 1989, for the first time in eastern bloc. For last 20 years there are no threads to democracy.

There can be no such thing as a Communist government, as Communism does away with governments, classes and money. The societies in eastern Europe were state capitalist.
Senate of the Republic of Poland was created in 1989.
Alive...in Poland was created on 1989-11-17.
Communists no longer rule Poland. Since 1989 Poland is a democratic country.
