The extermination of the buffalo
The rapid expansion of railways after the US Civil War had a negative affect on many Native Americans. By the 1880's the United States contained almost one third of the world's railway mileage. The completion of the transcontinental railroad system in May of 1869 was viewed by many Americans as the "final solution" to the Native American Tribal threat to US citizen settlements in the West. Even before the final spike was made to the East to West railway project, Congress had passed applications for military use of the coast to coast railway to ensure that the "savages" would be denied the Buffalo ranges by military force. The railways themselves were often built on what Native Americans considered to be their lands. The railway system brought new settlers from the Eastern States to all parts of the western areas of the continental USA more rapidly than the wagon train method. This large influx had conflicts with the Native Americans over territorial rights. The conflicts grew into violent ones and in some cases the result was a war against certain Native American tribes fought by Federal troops who were well armed and numerous.

From the start of the European invasion into North America the Native American tribes were killed, discriminated against, land taken from them, and the final insult removing them to reservations. The government broke treaties with the Native American nations and union troops would often enter encampments of tribes in the early morning hours killing men, women, and children. Not only were they attacked, but they were given blankets with diseases, the plains tribes main food source buffalo killed, and environmental terrorism practiced through the introduction of foreign plants, insects, and animals. The final action was the governmental policy "a good Indian is a dead one." Read Black Elk Speaks, and bury my Heart at Wounded Knee.

American States are not named after native languages, but after native tribes. Almost of these tribal names were incorrect, or at least not the name the tribe applied to themselves - there was a lot of misunderstanding about native words, mistranslations and errors, all of which have been preserved in the names of those states:MissouriDelawareDakota (North and South) -dakhóta comes from the Lakota word for "friend" or "ally".AlabamaUtahIllinoisIowaKansasMassachusettsConnecticutMinnesotaNebraskaMississippiIdahoMinnesotaAll of these record White men's versions of tribal names; the Illinois, for example, called themselves Innini, while the real name of the Alabama people was Alibamu and the Kansas were really Kawza. The Delawares called themselves Lenni Lenape - The First People.25 States are named for words or descriptions or tribes in Native languages. Many of these languages were very difficult for speakers of European languages so the are only approximations of the words. For example Seattle was named after Chief Siʔaɫ. in Lushootseed. In IPA this is: ˈsiʔaːɬ. English speakers can't often say the glottal stop and the final consonant which is a bit like a Welsh "LL". See-ahlth would be closest but still not right.

Looks like a question on the K12 Semester 1 Final Exam. The answer is Tecumseh. Yur welcome.
Little Big Horn. After the battle and the newspaper accounts of the battle people were upset and wanted the Native Americans to be punished. This was a big event for the late 1800's and the Union army was tasked with a "final solution" to the Native American problem.
The Battle of the Plains of Abraham was a turning point in North American history, especially Canadian history. It was the most significant victory, both militarily and historically, in the final push to defeat the French and drive them out of North America. As far as Britain was concerned, it was a triumph of British ingenuity and an example of British military superiority.
