"Dignitatis Humanae" is a Vatican II document that emphasizes the right to religious freedom. It highlights the dignity of each individual to freely practice their beliefs without coercion, which is crucial for promoting peace and respecting human rights. By recognizing this freedom, the document supports the autonomy of individuals in matters of faith and conscience.

What is it that justifies the importance of dignitatis humanae and what are the implications of such right?

Introduction, The conflict between Religion and human rights has been one of primary concern in the world today. Some people see Human rights as a way to completely wipe out religion some see it as a threat to the church; others see it as a threat to political policies and government policies as a whole. Some people violate human rights in the name of religion like those suicide bombers (terrorism ) who believe to die for the truth or who believe to die for their religion. Although it should be noted that religion played a good role in the ancient period as far as the fight against dictatorship was concern some people do still misunderstand the difference between religion and human rights. It was in October 1974 that the Catholic Church finally took a stand as far as human rights is concern as Cardinal Karol explained during the conference of bishops as he read a message from Pope Paul VI when he said <<While the truths about human dignity and rights are a common good of all mankind, we fine for us, the fullest expression in the Gospel. And we also draw in the Gospel the most pressing reason to engage the defense and promotion of human rights... As long as we live, the Church has taken a greater awareness of this truth. She also believes very strongly that the promotion of human rights is an application of the Gospel an it must occupy a central place in his Ministry>>.It was until modernity that the Catholic church decided to write a document saying that everybody has the right to freedom of worship or better still religious freedom, in other words it is known as <Dignitatis Humanae>.It was only the advent of modernity that churches could however saw the opposition to tradition and traditional values and the quest for freedom.
