Bloodshot eyes are eyes with noticeable blood pigments and swollen blood vessels. You generally get bloodshot eyes from lack of sleep.

Not that I've ever heard. It sounds like it just means someone was swollen from an infection.

I wish I had the answer to that. I'm currently taking amoxicillin and i have swollen glands in my neck. Although I am not taking it for that reason but I hope it helps none the less, lol. Hopefully someone can answer this question.
