The only thing I could think of doing is unhooking your neagtive battery cable for a minute or so and hook it back up. This would reset everything.
Thank you 94z for your responce regarding the coolant I'll try your advice
You have a bad coolant level sensor. It's easy to replace and it will cost around 55.00 at a auto parts store. (Dont let them confuse this with the temperature sensor.)
The low coolant symbol indicates low coolant, but if radiator and coolant resivoir are filled ok....the sensors go bad often. This happened to me. I checked coolant in radiator for weeks and finally replaced sensor. they are poorly made!!.....Pete :-} Red always means stop. If you had an owner's manual you could look this up. As I am not a Camaro owner, I can only guess. Is it possible that this is a warning that you are over reeving the engine? I have a 1999 Camaro Z28. According to the owners manual, a red arrow pointing down signifies a low coolant level. RED ARROW POINTING DOWN SIMPLY MEANS LOW COOLANT. SOMETIMES IT DOESNT MEAN ANYTHING AND THE SENSORS ACT UP ON 93 AND 94 MODELS. Sadly, they still haven't corrected this problem by 1996 as I have a Z28 that does the same thing . Low coolant is the indicator light, but there ris plenty of coolant so the switch is bad.
The light mentioned is an indicator that the coolant level in the radiator is low.
the coolant temp sensor on an iroc-z camaro assuming your engine is stock is located below and a little to the left of the maf (mass air flow sensor). it should be pointing down and threaded into the top of the water pump hope this helps.
12 quarts coolant
it uses dexcool coolant
The 1995 Chevrolet Camaro coolant system capacity is 4.3 gallons. The coolant should never be less than 50 percent anti-freeze.
two gallons
Remove the drain plug from the bottom of your 2002 Chevy Camaro radiator. Allow the coolant to drain out into a container. When all the coolant is drained out replace the drain plug to its original position. Fill the radiator with new coolant.
Not unless it is on the thermostat housing.
I believe its around a gallon and a half
The 1997 Chevrolet Camaro 3.8 liter engine coolant temperature sending unit can be found on the front of the engine. The coolant temperature sending unit will be approximately 3 inches above the thermostat housing.
