This could be an easy fix or very bad. First try an oil change and a new oil filter in case the old one is clogged. You should also have the oil pressure sending unit checked to ensure it is working properly. If that doesn't work you are going to need to have a comprssion check done to determine if your engine will have to be rebuilt. If your car has very high mileage it is very possible the engine is simply worn out.
