It was originally found that 189 Americans died at the Battle of the Alamo. This is the current official number. However, new historical estimates may guestimate the number as high as 257. Davy Crockett was killed during the Battle of the Alamo on March 6, 1836. He fought alongside the defenders of the Alamo and died defending the fort in San Antonio, Texas, during the Texas Revolution.
