Clive Barker is a horror fiction writer. A few of the books he has written has went to the Big Screen. My favorite is Hellraiser. He has some good books if you like the genre.
If the guy was actor Jack Nicholson...then it's the 1980 movie "The Shining".
Clive Barker was born in Liverpool, England on the 5th October 1952 and is therefore 60 years of age. He's most famous for his horror and fantasy novels.

Hellraiser's Pinhead was created by Clive Barker, a novelist, screenwriter, and filmmaker. His short story "The Forbidden" inspired the 1992 horror film "Candyman." Barker's Pinhead was portrayed by Doug Bradley in the Hellraiser films.
In "Regeneration" by Pat Barker, Dr. Rivers is a character who is desensitized to the suffering of soldiers due to his work as a psychiatrist during World War I. Another character, Captain Rivers, also shows signs of desensitization as a result of the trauma and horror of the war.

If you mean old school horror then that would probably be Edgar Allen Poe. If you mean modern writers then that would more likely be Stephen King. I would also consider Clive Barker to be one of the modern masters of horror, and H.P. Lovecraft to be one of the masters of old school horror.
