The rear brake lamp on your ford f 350 doesnt work but swapping the bulb with the other side that does ensures you that light bulb an both elements are good any ideas?

The next thing would be to check the light socket it sounds like a grounding problem that may be causing the problem

more than likely its your brake switch on the brake pedal. pull up on the brake pedal and see if it goes off. if it does you need a new brake switch if it doesnt you might be able to adjust it. if adjusting it doesnt do it your still going to need to replace the brake switch.
