more than likely its your brake switch on the brake pedal. pull up on the brake pedal and see if it goes off. if it does you need a new brake switch if it doesnt you might be able to adjust it. if adjusting it doesnt do it your still going to need to replace the brake switch.

What fuse is for the 2005 Ford mustang Rear Brake lights?
BLK/PNK
The back up lights on an E350 Ford Econoline Van won't work if the fuse has blown, the bulbs are bad, or the wiring has become disconnected. The reverse sensor also controls when and if the lights turn on.
A Ford Tempo will have no brake lights if the bulb has blown or the wires have come loose. Alternatively, the brake sensor in the dash can fail and stop sending power to the lights.
The easiest way to do this. Very lightly apply the emergency brake. Moving the pedal will turn the lights off. You can drive like this as long as the emergency brake is not actually engaged. Try it..... A permanent fix would be to install a toggle switch connected to the e-brake pedal switch.
Most likely no brake lights would be due to a faulty switch on the brake pedal or a bad fuse.
