If the door has no visible damage to it, I suspect that the little moveable latch that holds the door shut to the locking bar in the jamb is to blame. With the door open, jiggle the lacking latch with your fingers and see it can move. Also, move the door handle at the same time. It might be frozen for some reason. Spray it liberally with WD-40 or other light lubricating oil. If that doesn't work you may have to take the interior door panel off to get at the internal mechanism to see if you can determine the problem.
anyone know?

well with companies out there such as "Hasport"....you can get pretty much any sized Honda motor in there. the year of your car is already lined up for quite a few...like the b16 or b18. check out "Honda tuning magazine" too they are full of help.
Try shooting some WD40 into it and working in and out several times they will often stick and a little lube will help, otherwise you will probably need to replace it.
The lock cylinder is held in by the chrome on the outside in the cylinder where the key goes in to turn it. from the inside if the door - the outer piece of the chrome (the ring) has a couple of 'fingers' that help hold it on - push it off from the inside so you can reuse it. you should be able to push the cylinder out from the door now.

I have managed to get every part if the front door panel off but have failed to get the door lock and handle off without braking the locking and pull handle . Can anyone help with this? Unscrew the door latch screw; carefully disconnect it from the mechanism - or can lossen it and remove door panel around it - I was able to do the latter to make it easier.
