Christians have celebrated resurrection Sunday for close to 2000 years. Jesus being the first eternally resurrected, the remainder of Christianity waits for our new eternal bodies. Religions who believe in reincarnation, burn their current bodies because they believe there will never be a purpose for it/them again. Many tribes world-wide burn bodies in order to return the body to nature and release the spirit.
