Hit and RunBy:R.l.stine book summary

Four high schoolers from Avondale North (Cassie Martin, the protagonist, Scott Baldwin, Eddie "Scaredy" Katz, and Bruce "Winks" Winkleman) secretly go out one evening to practice their driving on a nearby deserted road. However, on the way back home, they accidentally hit and kill a man crossing the street. The foursome try and keep it a secret, but too many odd things start to happen shortly after: the corpse of the man they killed is reported missing from the morgue, the four young teens start receiving threatening phone calls from the deceased man (Brandt Tinkers), as well as other signs to indicate the man isn't dead after all--or is he? Could this whole stunt really just be a sick joke? Cassie, Eddie, Scott, and Winks are constant companions. Cassie has a secret crush on Scott, Winks is a practical joker, and Eddie is the group's scaredy-cat. With Winks leading them, Scott and Cassie tease Eddie mercilessly: the four scare him with an eyeball from the town morgue, and frighten him while he is trying to learn to drive. One night, when they take Scott's parents' car to practice driving illegally, Eddie hits a man and runs him over. Horrified, and too worried about the consequences to do anything responsible, the four friends leave the man for dead by the side of the road. In the days that follow, the four friends try to hide their guilt, but it appears that someone knows the truth about what they did - the corpse! The corpse has disappeared from the morgue, and now he is calling them on the phone and leaving threatening notes on their doorsteps. He even goes so far as to cause a car accident himself when he does his own hit and run, injuring Winks. In the end, Cassie discovers the corpse in the trunk of Eddie's car, and the most terrible practical joke of all is revealed, with Eddie at its helm. Author of more than 80 books of humor, adventure, and mystery for young readers, R.L. Stine has written a suspenseful tale of friendship turned bad.

The novel I read was called Hit and Run it is written by Lurlene McDaniel. This novel is about four teens that are in high school. These four teens names are Analise, Laurie, Quin, and Jeremy. One day at school in the cafeteria Quin had asked Laurie to a date, on the big date they had so much fun until quin hits something and his mother's SUV has a huge damage to the front. When Laurie gets out of the SUV Quin tells her to get back into the SUV, Quin just managed to tell her that he hit a deer. While Laurie gets back into the SUV Quin is putting branches over the something he hit.

Back at Jeremy's house he was sleeping when he gets a phone call from Sonya and Jack (Analise's parents.)They were asking Jeremy if he knew where Analise was. But Jeremy had no clue where she could be, as fast as Jeremy could drive he went to Analise's home where he saw Sonya and Jack crying so Jeremy tried to comfort them.Jeremy,Sonya and Jack took off searching for Analise in Jeremy's car. They called the babysitting couple, her friends to see if they knew where analise might be.

While they were searching Quin was driving Laurie home and had warned her not to tell anyone of what had happened. The next day Quin's dad Spence Palmer was asking Quin on what had happened to the car. But Quin had trouble telling his father but finally he told his father. The next couple of months the police are still investing and finally they find Analise's body. They call Jeremy and told Jeremy to tell Sonya and Jack the three of them rush to the hospital Analise is still alive, the doctor tells them she has to be in the ICU and has to go through a lot of operations.

Laurie finds herself feeling guilty so she tells Amy (Analise's friend) that she and Quin were driving and they might have hit analise. After hearing this news Amy told the police so the police arrested Spence Palmer because he was a person in interest and they also arrested Quin Palmer for doing the crime.Analise couldn't survive and died and so Jeremy makes her a coffin to lay her body in, because Jeremy works as a carpenter. While the funeral was taking place Jeremy was holding Analise's hand and was crying.
