I suggest you take your car to the dealer and they might be able to fix the problem.
Failed thermostat.
could be your thermostat or you have no antifreeze coolant or your water pump is going bad
one of the things that could be casing your ovreheating problem is a stuck thermostat. The thermostat stays closed until the engine gets to a certaqin temperature and then opens up to cool the engine. if the thermostat fails to open no coolent gets to the engine therfore causing the engine to overheat. one way to tell if your thermostat is going out is your upper radiator hose where the themostat housing is will be stretched and feel kinda rubbery. hope this helps could also be that your water pump is going and or a broken water pump belt...but id go with the thermostat first.then take it from there.
Engine is overheating.
The thermostat CANNOT be repaired it has to be replaced. There should be a hose coming out of the top of the radiator hose going to the engine. Where it connects to the engine should be a housing with two bolts on it. Disconnect the hose and the bolts and the thermostat is behind the housing. You might have to move something out of the way to do this, but it is usually rather easy. Hope this helps.

I found the thermostat on a 1993 Nissan 240SX (KA24DE, 2.4liter DOHC). It is approximately 2 inches to the left, and an inch or two above the fan pulley. There is a large hose going into it. The large hose coming from the top of the radiator going into the engine block DOES NOT go to the thermostat, but where IT enters the engine block you will see a small bolt for bleeding air from the cooling system. I needed to bleed air after installing the new thermostat - this was evident by the fluctuation in engine temperature before the bleeding process. Good luck, Alan
The thermostat is on the input radiator line going to the engine. Take the line off on the engine and the thermostat should be there. Now if you are talking about the thermostat for inside the car and not for the engine, the correct term for it is the climate control thermostat and it is located behind the wheel below the instrument cluster where there is a vented inclosure.
The thermostat or the fan relay for the radiator fan. If the temperature gauge shows the engine to be hot the fan should be on. If the fan isn't on you can check it by removing the electrical connection to the temperature sensor. If the fan is all right it will come on by default when the wiring connector is removed. Usually it is the thermostat which needs to be replaced when the engine is overheating. If the top hose going to the radiator isn't hot when the temperature gauge shows the engine to be hot the thermostat is stuck shut and should be replaced.
The engine thermostat, on a 2008 Chevy Impala 3.5 V6, is located on the lower front side of the engine. The thermostat will have a water hose going into the top of it.
Most likely your thermostat has gone bad. Cheap and easy repair. If its white smoke coming out the pipe it may be a head gasket,,the smoke is acutally steam vaporating out the chamber thru the tailpipe...if it starts a second then stops you may have just gotten away from a going bad engine and itsw the thermostat..have it checked..
It's on the drivers side of the engine, right near the air cleaner. There's a hose going into the pipe that has to be removed on the upper part of the engine. The thermostat is in there.
