I had this problem and it was a bad alternator.
Have your alternator checked out.
It can be the dimmer switch. It needs to be checked out./ A test light will check for voltage.

have the alternator checked. sounds like it is not producing enough current to run when at idle. also have battery checked as a bad alternator can trash a battery
Alternator is failing.
Have you checked the fuses?
If the lights flicker when the vehicle is running, the alternator is on it's way out.
a weak battery would most likely be the problem. if that doesnt work, have your alternator checked.
usually this flickering affects the headlights to and is caused by a bad alternator
You may see the headlights and dash lights flicker at an idle. You may hear unusual noises coming from the alternator when the engine is running.
Check the grounds on headlights
