- The outlet has gone bad such as internal contacts corroded or bent so they don't make a connection.
- The wire on the outlet is not connect or loose, not connected properly
- There is a break in the wire somewhere
- No power going to the outlet from the source, which could also be caused by a bad fuse

∙ 15y agoAre you certain that the appliance you are trying is in working order? Try it somewhere else. Are you sure that there is power to the socket, plug something else in that you know works. If there is a switch on the socket, is it broken? Ditto fuse in socket if there is one.
