No theres not always a no.1 fan in music its no such thing really as a no.1 fan really. People say it cuz they feel that their the no.1 fan but it might not actually be true.

NO doubt you parents would be worried because, well, there your parents, they have to be. But what you could say {if it's true} is that theres, nothing to be worried about, your just expressing yourself through your music, and that your not going emo, or anything like that. You just like emo music. Or you could say emo is just a genre of music {technically not true} and theres nothing to be worried about.

No way to really answer that, as there is no set definition as to what 'old school' music is. For someone born in the late 90s, music from the early 90s might be 'old school' to them, whereas it might not be for someone born in the 70s.

Understanding how to read music will only serve to strengthen your skills. Theres no reason you can't play without reading notes, but in a professional setting, or if you are teaching someone else, it can be very helpful knowing how to read music.
