The american flag as 13 stripes (red and white) representing the first 13 colonies in the 18th century. It has 50 stars in the top left corner in a royal blue box. It has been changed various times over the years. It has insired songs such as the "Star Spangled Banner" which is our national anthem. Just Google image "first american flag" or "history of the U.S. flag" etc, and it will bring up images of the first flags.
