After the hunting party impales the pig's head on a stake outside of Simon's cubbyhole. It is there, in a scene of magic realism that Simon begins to communicate with the head and identifies it as "The Lord of Flies", another name for the Devil. The creature then starts to mock and threaten him, telling him he is not wanted on the island because he represents the soul and spirit of man while the others will likely kill him..
In "Lord of the Flies," Simon sees the pig's head, known as the Lord of the Flies, as symbolizing the manifestation of evil. He perceives the head as a representation of the darkness and savagery within each individual, much like how the devil is often seen as a symbol of temptation and malevolence. This connection highlights the theme of inherent human wickedness present in the novel.
The pig's head is called "the Lord of the Flies". But only by Simon.
The mother sow's head symbolizes the power of evil or the power of the devil. If you remember when it "talked" to Simon, it told him that he doesn't belong on the island (the island, of course, representing humanity and its evil nature). Simon is the only character who hasn't let his savage side out (as the other boys have), which means that good, decent, righteous behavior doesn't belong.
Pigs' heads are the head portion of a pig that typically includes the snout, ears, and cheeks. They are sometimes used in cooking to prepare dishes like pork head cheese, brawn, and head broth. They are also used to make products like pig's head masks or as ingredients in pet food.
In "Lord of the Flies," the character Simon is the one who converses with the pig's head, also known as the Lord of the Flies. The pig's head symbolizes the evil inherent in all human beings and speaks to Simon's inner fears and thoughts about the nature of the beast.

Pigs
In "Lord of the Flies," Simon envisions the dead parachutist tangled in the trees as the beast. This image haunts him and symbolizes the primal, destructive nature that resides within each individual.
The flies in Simon's secret place prefer the rotting pig's head as their source of food. The decaying flesh attracts them due to its strong odor and decomposition process.
I believe they are about the same weight.
