Social Work (MSW) or Psychology. I would suggest social work, which provides much more practical information for people who are going to work in the real world, as opposed to academia. It also provides a broader base of information if you want to branch out into other areas beside counseling, such as case management or family services.

Then there are others such as therapists within the field of mental health that are at the masters and more often the doctorate level.
