If your connecting PC's its normally recommended that you use a wired connection. Most PC's dont have built-in wireless capabilities. However to do this you will need to buy a wireless router, a Linksys WRT54G are generally good and then for each PC you will need to buy a wireless card. You have 2 options here. Internal or External. If you get an interal one then you dont have to worry about loosing it later on down the road and you dont have to worry about loosing a USB slot. But if you take Internal then you cant swap it easliy from PC to PC.
If your going for Internal, I find D-Link make some good cards. If your going External, Linksys have a small Wirless USB Dongle - get that.
So now, you should have a router and 2 wireless cards/dongles for your PC's. The first step is to program your router. This only takes two minutes and as far as I can remember detailed instructions are supplied. Next install the 2 cards along with drivers, or one for each PC.
Then do a search for wireless networks and you should be picking up your router. All in all, your looking at about 30 mins and its a straight forward process too, nothing too painful.
