After stripping apply a "wood conditioner" such as "Benite" (this is a brand sold at paint stores here on the left coast). A word of caution though, once you've applied a wood conditioner you will get a more even finish - at the expense of highlights.
Take a picture of the seats, and go to a paint shop and compare blue color of the seats to the other colors.
Must be treated first with a conditioner and sometimes must be sanded witha fine grit to make it stick.
