If you are thinking geologically, it is part of the Eurasian plate. If you are thinking of the looser geographical terms most people would say Europe, though British people often distinguish their islands as separate, and speak of mainland Europe as 'on the continent'.
The United Kingdom is an independent collection of islands. However - it is usually included in the continent of Europe - due to its close proximity to the European mainland.
