Sorry to hear that. I like mine. Perhaps you should try a new one?
It resides at the engine side of the lower radiator hose.
Top of the radiator just like every other car.
Follow the upper raditor hose from the raditor to the motor, the raditor hose is connected to the thermostat housing, take the houseing off, the thermostat is under the housing.
Bottom of the engine where the lower radiator hose connects. Besides having to lay on the floor, it is easy to replace.
Follow the upper raditor hose from the raditor to the top of the engine.Where the upper rad hose ends on the engine is where the thermostat is.
Every car I've ever worked on its been in the housing at the engine end of the top radiator hose. follow the lower radiator hose its actually under the car! at least in my 2001 it is
u didnt mention what size engine..either way just follow the upper raditor hose from the raditor
follow the raditor hose it will have to bolts look for the bolts take them off and it inside the hose.
To replace the thermostat in a Subaru Forester, first ensure the engine is cool and disconnect the negative battery terminal. Drain the coolant, then remove the upper radiator hose and the thermostat housing, which is typically secured by bolts. Take out the old thermostat, clean the mating surfaces, and install the new thermostat with a new gasket. Reassemble the housing and hose, refill the coolant, and check for leaks before reconnecting the battery.
it should be on the raditor next to the lower hose
You can get that picture from google.com.
Lower hose goes between rad and water pump !! KM
