Electronically governed at 126 mph +1/-1. With no Governor, easily 144.
the top speed of a 1994 impala ss is 158 mph
The 2006 Impala and the 2004 Impala have top speed ratings that are the same. Both vehicles have the same standard engine and horsepower.
Yes, the 2004 Chevy Impala SS does have a governor chip that limits its top speed. This chip is factory installed and limits the speed to just over 100 mph.
The top speed of a Chevy Impala SS is a little vague. It was once used at a race car in the 60's, but is also being currently made and not sure which car is being referred to. The overall top speed from the 60's remains unknown as many NASCAR drivers had to modify and fit the engines themselves.
All the Documentation available online seems to Agree that 2006-2009 Impala SS is rated at about: 154 MPH Top End. 5.6 0-60 14.2 or 14.1 1/4 Mile. I have not yet tried my 06 yet to verify, but all online Car sites and Magazines seem to 100% agree, so odds are it is correct. http://www.google.ca/search?hl=en&q=2008+Impala+SS+Top+Speed&btnG=Google+Search

1996 impala ss
I have one and most of the folks on the Impala SS forum believe the speed to be 145. I've personally had mine to 144 and that was all of it. I have a few mods on mine as well. I hope this helps I had an 94' caprice LT-1 w/tow pack , Took off the top speed limiter in the pcm''STOCK'' w/catback exhaust .Went 145mph and was still going! Don't think it would do 150mph. But could hit 147-148mph if I stayed on it . I think any good running94-96 SS can run over 140+mph
2000-2005 have 6 cylinders but the 06 ss has 8 cylinders
