I have a tumor in my salvatore gland and the doctor wants to remove the gland instead of just the tumor. We do not know if it is cancer or not. Will I have trouble making saliva? Will I have dry mouth? I do not want to be uncomfortable. Thanks Joanne consalvo joanneconsalvo@comcast.net

Surgical removal of a testicle is the usual treatment if a tumor is found within the gland itself.
You could have an infected Montgomery gland. The Montgomery glands are the bumps on the areola around the nipples. An infected gland can swell and become painfully inflamed. The pain can be relieved by releasing the pus and keeping the area clean.
