Trunk release and trunk brake light won't work on 2006 dodge charger?

This is a common problem on this Charger model. Most people are finding broken wires inside the rubber boot that routes wires from the trunk lid to the trunk.
Pull the rubber grommet (passenger side of trunk) back and inspect the wires. You will find one or more broken.
