I think the best thing you could do in a situation like this is to write down all the good and bad qualities about each one. Whichever one has the most good qualities could be the one you choose...but then, that's not fair to the other girl, because you like her also. so, you should tell the girl you don't pick that you're really sorry, and if things don't work out with the first girl, then you'll go out with her. this is a very hard question to answer, so i'd like to say that i really tried my best to help you. =\

Why not just be friends with both of them? You could include them as part of a mixed group in activities you and your other friends all enjoy, or just hanging out together (an activity most people enjoy). Or spend time alone with either of them separately, again just doing things you both enjoy. There's no obligation to date: being friends with a person of the opposite sex doesn't demand you date and, in fact, taking time to get to know each girl without rushing into a dating situation will - if you eventually date one of them - most likely result in your dating the girl whose company you find you most enjoy. Or you might find you don't get along well enough with either one, for dating or for friendship, in which case you could well have saved yourself possible future problems. Meanwhile, a kiss on the cheek, holding hands sometimes, or the occasional hug is okay for both and doesn't commit any of you to anything.
