This is a too vague of question. Depends on year and engine type. Some do and some do not.
If the engine type is 3ZZ there isn't a timing belt. This engine is VVT, so the valves are moving by a chain that lasts much more than belt.
Depends on the position of the valves at the time. The 1ZZ-FE engine is an interference type. There is a chance of significant engine damage if the timing chain breaks during operation.
