Mobile phones in the UK use codes in the range 07400 through 07999.

In international format, drop the leading 0 and replace it with country code +44.

(The plus sign means "insert your international access prefix here." From a GSM mobile phone, you can enter the number in full international format, starting with the plus sign. The most common prefix is 00, but North America (USA, Canada, etc.) uses 011, Japan uses 010, Australia uses 0011, and many other countries use different prefixes.)

The United Kingdom has several hundred telephone area codes.

Ordinary landline area codes begin with 01 or 02. Mobiles begin with 074 through 079.

To convert a UK domestic area code to international format, drop the trunk prefix 0 and add the country code +44. For example, London's 020 becomes +44 20.
