You can have tons of reasons for that. If other people can ping it then, you have problems with firewall, you are in a different subnet, or you are in diffrent group. If you have active directory, it's possible that administrator doesn't allow to connect to that printer. Solution for such cases usually are either simple or very comlicated. Try to check setting for a computer wich already connected to that printer (group, subnet, permissions and so on). If you are in a diffrent subnet it can be a problem, it depends on which printer you have. If it's an old model then try to find a free IP address in the same subnet with the printer. Also check firewall settings.
If nobody can connect to the printer or ping it then check cable, try to restart it...

PING short form for "Packet InterNetwork Groper" is a protocol that queries IP Addresses on network. An IP Address can be pinged bit there is nothing called "Ping Address".
"ping" will test for connectivity to a device at the Ethernet Address Level...but that does not mean the device's software is actually talking to the network or responding to the network. "ping" WILL tell you the device is wired up and has power applied to it's network interface board.
The ping command is to check that an IP address is reachable. the ping command is used to know the active networks and ip address in the network. it also used to self check the address when there is connection trouble with other system. internet control message protocol is used by the ping.
To ping a computer, you must be sure that the PCs are on the same network. Boot the PC you wish to ping. In the bottom right corner of your monitor is the system tray and the network status is shown. Double click and the network connection(s) of your PC appear with either a red X, meaning there is no connection, or an arrow is between them which means there is a connection. Right click on the network you are using and select properties and record the IP address. Leave this PC running and then boot the other PC and run the command prompt. Again, check that the network connection is still working and type "ping" and the IP address.
Try to ping computers around you:Win + R->cmd->ping 192.168.*.* (where asterisk should be replaces with particular address).
The network command 'ping' issues a series of standard, small messages to the destination network address specified by the user. For example: ping 192.168.0.1 This command will send a number of 'ping' messages to the computer on the network with IP address 192.168.0.1 Upon receiving these messages, the destination machine will echo the same message back to the sender. This is used as a simple check of the network connectivity between the two computers on the network. Since an unreachable address will result in no message being returned, the sending machine must know how long to wait before considering the message lost. This time is known as the 'timeout'. By default, it is 1000 millisecond (1 second) but it can be set to any time by the user with the '-w' option. For example: ping -w 2000 192.168.0.1 This will cause the ping program to wait for two seconds before considering a ping packet lost.
The ping command won't tell you the name of a computer on a LAN by using the network address. Using other commands such as nslookup may help with that.
PING stands for "Packet Internet Groper" it is used to check the connectivity in the network. Ping is a utility that is used to determine if a particular IP address is present on line and accessible. It works by sending a packet to the IP address in question and waiting for a reply.
Use the PING (and current IP address) command to execute a loopback test on a NIC
it could be a firewall blocking icmp outbound traffic from said machine, if the machine can still access network functions such as the internet and lan printers its tcpip stack is still intact it could be a firewall blocking icmp outbound traffic from said machine, if the machine can still access network functions such as the internet and lan printers its tcpip stack is still intact.
`Ping'' is used for network debugging`ping' sends a single packet
