As of 2014 and the current final form (still subject to minor litigation), the PPACA does require all legal residents of the USA (whether citizens or not) to obtain healthcare coverage. There are several different avenues for obtaining coverage, and many may not require the individual to pay for the coverage (e.g. government-sponsored plans for qualifying individuals, and employers who cover all costs of insurance).
But, yes, the ultimate answer is YES, you now will be required to have coverage from some source, or face a fine of up to 2.5% of your gross income (starting in 2016). Where that coverage comes from, and the amount the individual ends up paying, depends entirely on the individual's specific circumstance.
