The word 'universe' may be defined as follows:
NOUN
1) everything that physically exists; all of space and time together with matter, energy, and forces that are governed by the laws of physics; the natural or material world in which we live; nature; the cosmos
2) a reality that is separate and different from our own with its own dimensions of space and time and governed by its own natural laws
3) all people living on planet Earth; society; mankind; the world
4) planet Earth together with all its living creatures
5) the huge cluster of stars, gas, and dust of which planet Earth is a part; the Milky Way; the Galaxy
6) in logic, all items considered for discussion; a universe of discourse
7) in statistics, all the elements from which samples can be taken; a population
8) a sphere of activity, interest, or influence involving a person or a group of people
The universe is the whole external physical environment in which humans find themselves living. It is a four-dimensional space-time continuum consisting of matter and energy. Humans have five biological senses of sight, hearing, touch, taste, and smell by which to perceive everything in the universe. The most powerful human sense is that of sight. The universe is a complex hierarchy of physical structures. It consists of nonliving matter such as planets, stars, and galaxies as well as living matter such as plants and animals. The planet Earth is the only object in the universe known to support life. Humans are the most intelligent, the most technologically developed, and one of the most successful of all living organisms on Earth primarily due to a large brain capable of complex communication and manual dexterity capable of making and handling a variety of tools.
Universe means all matter and energy, including the earth, the galaxies, and the c♥ntents of intergalactic space, regarded as a wh♥le ♥♥♥

The Universe makes up everything everything that we understand to exist, including all of space, time, matter and energy.
The Universe hasn't a special definition in chemistry; the Universe is the total space with all components in the time.
Astronomers, physicists
Cosmologists
They study the physical universe considered as a totality of phenomena in time and space.
At present cosmologists think that dark energy is ripping the universe apart despite the force of gravity so the answer would be NO. However some cosmologists do not accept that dark energy is real and if this is true the answer would be "we do not yet know".
Cosmologists study the science of cosmology. This field covers elements of the universe including astrophysics as well as time/space issues.

Scientists who study the universe are known as cosmologists.

Cosmologists
Early philosophers were called cosmologists because they were primarily concerned with understanding the natural world, the universe, and the origins of everything in it. They focused on developing theories about the structure of the cosmos and the fundamental principles governing the world around them.
They study the physical universe considered as a totality of phenomena in time and space.
At present cosmologists think that dark energy is ripping the universe apart despite the force of gravity so the answer would be NO. However some cosmologists do not accept that dark energy is real and if this is true the answer would be "we do not yet know".

This question has been giving nightmares to cosmologists for years. But with the current evidences, scientists have determined that the universe is expanding at an ever-increasing rate and it will expand forever.
This is a broad topic. Briefly: The average existentialist would take for granted that science can explain the origins of the universe and its eventual fate. Physical cosmologists hold that the universe is governed by physical laws as distinguished from religious understandings of humanity and the universe.
