four strokes are more work ( if break down must replace like valves in stuff) and are more expensive, and heaver. two strokes are light and powerful, and plus they make non smoke premix now so now you can see the grass instead albino haze floating around you. the cheapest 2 stroke is about 60 and the cheapest 4 stroke is about 140 on ebay, if i were you I'd get a 2 stroke trimmer
The Troy Bilt 2 Cycle Gas Trimmer uses quite a bit of gas.
use 2 cycle 50.1
It all depends on you. 4 cycle trimmers do not require mixing of oil and gas. The gas that you use for your lawn mower or tractor is the same gas for your trimmer. They also provide more torque than a 2 cycle trimmer. 2 cycle trimmers require mixing of fuel and gas and are generally lighter in weight than 4 cycle trimmers.
Craftsman 32cc 2 cycle Split Boom Gas Trimmer are great for easy use and flexibility.

I like the Yard-Man 31cc 2-cycle String Trimmer .

50:1 gas to 2 cycle oil.
40:1 is the correct mixture for the fuel and 2 cycle oil. 3 oz. of 2 cycle oil per gallon of gas. I have Craftsman Line Trimmer 358.795190 (Model #). It has the quick release shaft for other attachments. Hopefully this will help you.
It's a 2 Cycle engine and it's a 40:1 Gas to oil mixture! (2oz. Oil to 1 US Gallon Gas) According to the manual for John Deere S1400 UT20810 line trimmer, the mixture is 50:1, or 2.6 oz to 1 US gallon. The manual is OM PS05968.
2-cycle oil in most cases can be used as long as it is used in a 2-cycle motor. The answer to your question is NO, you cannot use 2 cycle oil in any engine. Only use 2 cycle oil, in a 2 cycle engine.
