You need either a crossover cable or a Router. Make a Peer to Peer network or make them both workgroup computers.
>use a switch or a hub if you already have Router/modem. I suggest a router for future expansion. Hub is cheap than a switch but it perform low than the switch. Cabled work group on each computer you have is costly and the same time it performs like a Hub. Set an internet Protocol (IP) since it is connected through the net.
