Can you provide more details about the team from AIIMS-R that will be investigating the dengue epidemic in Raipur, and what are their objectives and expected outcomes?

Latest Raipur news on September 04, 2023. A team from AIIMS-R will investigate the dengue epidemic in Raipur. In response to the dengue epidemic, the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) will now conduct research to determine the cause of the outbreak and the areas of Raipur with the greatest dengue spread. AIIMS' PSM Department has formed an Epidemic Research Team. This group will survey patients in order to identify the virus. The Health Department and the Preventive and Social Medicine (PSM) Department have agreed on dengue patient research. Dr. Manisha Ruia, Head of the PSM Department, and her team are in charge of this study. Surveys will be carried out in locations where dengue cases have been identified. According to a press release, the patient's medical history will be reviewed, and contact information will be traced. The state of the impacted areas will be inspected, as will the accumulation of water, among other things. AIIMS has developed a special dengue ward to do research on the pandemic. The state epidemic control in-charge, Dr. Subhash Mishra, has directed the malaria in-charges of Raipur and Durg to liaise with the AIIMS-Raipur team. Anti-larva spraying is being carried out over the city to prevent the development of dengue. Cleaning efforts have also been stepped up in the wards. Areas with stagnant water are being handled in addition to cleaning coolers. Spraying for anti-larvae has been done in a number of locations, including Moudhapara, Kundrapara, Utkal Basti, Arvind Nagar, and Devendranagar. According to Corporation Chairman Pramod Dubey, extensive measures are being taken to avoid dengue in all areas. Local citizens are becoming more aware. They are encouraged to remove water from window coolers in their houses as soon as possible and to prevent allowing water to gather in plants, pots, tires, broken dishes, or any other items, especially money plants. It should be recommended that if water accumulates anywhere, it should be evacuated quickly. In locations where cleanliness is insufficient or sweepers cannot reach, residents can notify the ward councilor as well as the zoning office. Such areas will be cleaned as soon as possible. According to the announcement, a separate ward for dengue patients has been constructed at the district hospital, and doctors have been urged to remain watchful in their treatment.
