The only penny being produced by the US Mint in 1885 was the Indian Head penny. Wheat pennies were not produced until 1909.
A 1885 penny - aka Indian Head Cent in good condition (G4) is worth: $6.00; if its mint state is MS60, the value rises to: $200.
A 1885 dime - aka - Seated Liberty Dime - in MS60 condition is worth: $200.
Please look at the date and denomination again. The U.S. did not issue any half dollar coins with the Liberty Head design in 1885. All were of the Liberty Seated type.
Money can have various values based on condition and certain stamping. An 1885 Morgan Liberty Head silver dollar can be worth between $20 and $400.
This coin needs to be seen for an accurate assessment, take it to a dealer for a better idea of value.

In order to give an accurate estimate, the coin should be seen. I suggest you take it to a coin dealer and have it appraised.
The first wheat penny was struck in 1909. The coin is a 1883 Indian Head cent, the reverse is an Oak Wreath & Shield not wheat stalks. In average condition the coin has a retail value of $5.00-$8.00.
Mintage of general circulation SL dollars (liberty holding a flag)ended in 1873. However, Trade Dollars (liberty holding an olive branch)were minted up until 1883 and then a few were apparently minted (off the record) in 1884 & 1885. I think the last auction price for an 1885 was over a million dollars. If you have a Seated Liberty dollar dated 1885 it is most likely a reproduction and not worth much more then its silver content. It is possible you have an 1885 SL Half Dollar and depending on condition they will usually bring at least a couple hundred dollars
Usually these have the dollar value on the eagle side, on the bottom, and it will say FIVE D or TEN D.
1885 is a common date Morgan retail values are $26.00-$32.00 for circulated coins. Uncirculated start at $35.00
