Visionary black preacher whose bloody slave rebellion in 1831 tightened?

Nat Turner (1800-1831) was a black slave who experienced visons and preached to his fellow slaves in the Baptist style. He led a slave revolt in Southamton County, Virginia. The revolt started on 21 August 1831 but was quickly suppressed. Turner was captured on 30 October and hanged on 11 November 1831.
