You probably have the most common problem to that which is a vacum leak.check all air hoses for cracks,loose fitting,or just not on.

Dirt in the carb or carb out of adjustment or both.
If its a 4-barrel carb, its 310hp. If it has the W-31 option it was 325hp. Both were considered "high compression" engines. There was a 2 barrel carb 350 cu in that had only 250 hp. Hope this helps.
if you got a carb rebuild kit most of them have the tolerances in them. if not there are maunals on that motor on eBay for that year motor
You will have to look on the carb and get the numbers on it and then go to the Edelbrock website.
Your float is sticking
Could be a number of reasons but one that comes to mind is the camshaft has worn lobes. This condition would cause a consistent popping out of the carb on acceleration.
there should never be oil in the carb. if there is then you have a problem. have you tipped the motor on its side on the carb side?
