i had 2 golfs with the same problem - 1.6 p reg it would cut out when slowing down and approaching the traffic lights (or going round a round about ) the fuel injection was cleaned and it worked.... the other is an auto 2 ltre - This cut out on me - seemed to just stall whilst driving (not good when doing 70 on the motorway!! and as it is auto could not jump start !!! ) I checked the relays, but the problem was caused by a faulty crank shaft sensor £40 to buy one - this fixed the problem

To top up the hydraulic fluid in a VW MK 1 Golf, you need to locate the hydraulic fluid reservoir attached to the brake master cylinder. Unplug the electrical fluid sensor and Fill the reservoir to the ÒMaxÓ mark.
On a VW Golf MK5, the fuse box is located on the left side of the dashboard. It can be accessed by prying off the side cover.
open driver door fuse box is in front of you above door seal
If you're sitting in the car, its located on left hand side of the the cylinder head.
you have to take the hole front end out bumper headlights radiator support bracket lots of parts
Is that a permanent installtion you are looking for or just a dimensional problem ? Come on - get a tape measure and use your brain.
