If you are referring to the Serpentine belt, you loosen no pulley. You simply remove tension from the belt. The tension is applied by the Idler Pulley. Pry the idler back and remove the belt.

loosen the bolt in the center of the drive belt pulley, then loosen the bolt on the side of the pulley. as you loosen the side bolt the tension lets up
Loosen the drive belt tensioner pulley. Remove the drive belt. Put the new drive belt on the pulley. Tighten the tensioner pulley.
Loosen the tensioner pulley. Remove the old drive belt. Install the new drive belt. Tighten the new drive belt with the tensioner pulley.
