I had the same problem 3 times on my '97 Sebring. Twice, I replaced the crank position sensor with the (lower-priced) after-market sensors. They worked for a while, about a year and they go bad again. Finally, I replaced it with a Chrysler part, and have had no problem since. I hate to say it... but for the difference in price, this is one part I would highly recommend spending the extra money.
every 5000 to 8000 Km or every 4 months
I had the same problem with the same year car. I've replaced the resistor several times. It works for months & then it stops working again. I think this is the 4th time I replaced the resistor, it is working okay now. I think it is a defect in with this cars fan system. I had a similar problem with my 2001 Sebring Convertible. I had the blower motor replaced, and now the fan works perfectly.
take it to a reputable garage,do not,I repeat,do not attempt job yourself! Mine sat for 2 months before it was complete.
I had one in a 1999 Sebring JXI. It would start flashing when the engine was hot and at idle. I removed the plug from the sensor and cleaned up the connections. It was good for about 6 months, but then started up again. I found that it was better to use 5-30 weight oil and now it only flashes when the oil is dirty.
I have a 924 Sebring in good original condition and have been advertisisng it for $4,300 OBO with no response in two months. Anderson Seatle, WA ajerome5@comcast.net
Bulbs are covered by the factory for Chrysler for 12 months or 12000 miles. If this 2004 does not qualify then to change the front bulb, remove the 2 screws that hold the lens in and pull the headlight housing out enough to reach behind and twist the bulb out. For the rear, open the trunk, remove all the plastic wing nuts, pull the lens out away from the body.
Interesting?? I had my starter and battery replaced on my 2002 Saturn VUE and within a few months my low beams ands daytime running lights went out. Dealer says the post in the fuse block is burnt and the entire block needs to be replaced at a cost of over $600.

The Honeywell filter should be replaced every 8- 12 months or as needed.
