there called BITS or in-stock crew depending on store, is helps with on-hands, counts, outs being filled around the clock, and it will eventually lead to less freight on trucks

---------------------------------------------------

The person's above response is correct on that is the companies goal of this new program.

The new program is suppose to have workers come in and do Bin Exceptions, backroom counts, and auto picks.

*Bin Exceptions---these pop up if you put something in the bin and the computer believes it should actually be stocked instead. This causes you to have to verify that the amount the computer thinks the shelf can hold is correct and adjust if necessary. Next it wants you to enter how many is on the shelf (to correct onhand issues), and then count all the item in the backroom.

*Backroom counts-------You count how many of an item exists in the stockroom (it comes up and tells you where in the stockroom the item is located, and you need to verify this is true, by scanning all items in that bin of the backroom)

*Auto picks-----The computer tells you what items needs to be stocked for the day. It uploads each hour with items that are selling on the shelves in the past hour.

The truth though of this reality is that sometimes items are not auto picked by the computer that are out on the shelf, even when onhand and shelf cap issues are correct. Dept. mgrs are forced to create manual picks to fill thier shelves. Also, there are numerous ways to cheat the system. The company has fixed some of the issues, but still many exist.

It's a great idea if everyone would be on the same page, and if the company could fix all the glitches, and provide proper staffing to ensure its all done correctly.

Also another new program to the backroom is that you must do EPC each morning if you are on the backroom team or on the salesfloor in clothing dept.

You waive a special Texlon (scanner) and it picks up all the items without having to physically scan them one at a time. It doesnt actually scan all the items like it should but that is another glitch. Walmart does plan to roll out this program to more areas and they are slowly doing this in more categories of clothing, but the company hopes to have a good deal of the company in a majority of depts. on this program in 10 yrs time. This means more jobs will be lost, because we already saw this happen with dept. managers in clothing being eliminated, because it takes less time to do price changes, etc. according to this new system. This also will almost eliminate the need for Regis or other inventory teams coming in because RFID/EPC will be on nearly every item. Will save the company a lot of money, but eliminate a good deal of us.

Contact me at liesreality@Yahoo.com with any other walmart issues or questions. I am a mgr with walmart, but not a walmart spy for the company, LOL. I definately dont agree with everything the company does.
