A word to the wise. No one in the process except the defendant ever thinks it is a good idea for an accused to represent himself. The defense attorney thinks it is not smart; the judge thinks it is not smart, and the district attorney thinks it is not smart. Why a defendant, who knows less about the process than anyone else, thinks it is a good idea to have no attorney when no one else does beats me.
