Alexander the great's famous horse, Bucephalus, was probably a male horse. Ancient writers refer to the horse as a colt, an immature male horse. They also refer to him as a stallion, a grown up male horse who hasn't been gelded.
Short of digging his grave up in Pakistan and checking out his skeleton and DNA nobody knows 100% for sure if Bucephalus was a male horse, but, given what people from long ago say he probably was.
