No, Balaam is not at all a man of God. Many think that he is a prophet of God but actually he just said what God asked him to do (read numbers 22-24).From The Bible verse "Balaam also the son of Beor, the soothsayer, did the children of Israel slay with the sword among them that were slain by them" - Joshuva 13:22, it is very obvious that he is a soothsayer and not a prophet.A prophet will not be a soothsayer. And also when Lord didnot allow him to curse the children of Israel, he induced the people to do sins against Lord which is very clear from the verse in Numbers 31:16. A prophet of God will not guide the children of Israel to sins. Also read the verse deutronomy 23:4, which will clearly say that Balaam was money-minded(to get more money, he went with Balak to curse the people). Simple answer is: A man of God will only bless the people and not try to curse the people. Balaam tried so many times in different places to curse them but the almighty God didnot allow him. Balaam is only a soothsayer and not a prophet.

Who was the false prophet asked to curse Israel?

This prophet would be Bil'am (Balaam). See Numbers ch.22-24 and ch.31. It is important to note that he was not a false prophet, since the Bible holds that he did have the ability to prophesy truthfully. He is considered a false prophet because he used his gift specifically to inflict harm and sow discord, as opposed to helping people come closer to God.

After god confronted balaam what did balaam do?

After God confronted Balaam the first time giving him direction to speak only what God told him to say, Balaam knew that God told him not to try to curse the children of Israel, yet Balaam continued to go with Balak to seven different mountains, each one higher than the last mountain to try and curse the Israelites, and each time God made the enemy Balaam speak God's blessings with his tongue over Jacob's seed. After Balak saw that he could not curse the children of Jehovah Elohim( the Israelites ), he-Balak commanded Balaam to neither bless the children of Israel not curse them at all, but God is God and has the last say about it all, and Balaam set his face toward the wilderness and left

Who was the prophet that was scolded by his donkey?

In the Old Testament, the prophet Balaam was cursing Israel. It was then that the Lord spoke through the mouth of his donkey and told him to turn from his wicked ways.

Why was God angry at Balaam when He told him to go?

Two possible explanations:1. We must not only adhere to God's authority but also to God's purpose. Balaam understood God's authority and thus sought His permission to follow Balak's delegates. He did not however pay close attention to God's purpose, which was clear stated that "You shall not cures the people, for they are blessed." (Numb 22:12)2. Balaam was not a true prophet (thus the NT characterization of Balaam) and only gave a false impression that he is able to hear God, which explains why he couldn't see the angel in front of his nose when even a donkey can see. In fact the first delegate could not persuade him with their means. The second delegate with greater authority and wealthy was needed. The Bible simply narrates events that unfolded, what Balaam and delegates did and spoke.

Where do you find the bible verse Who God bless no man can curse?

The phrase "What God has blessed, no man can curse" is not a direct Bible verse but is related to the concept found in Numbers 23:8, where Balaam speaks about God's protection over the people of Israel. It is a popular saying that reflects the belief in God's ultimate protection and blessings.
