Yes, Charles was quite pleased. It also provided proof that what Joan had said about the voices and visions she experienced were true.

Who is the french woman who led the french army in Hundred Years War?

Joan of Arc is the only person you could possibly be referring to. She commanded the French Army because she had gained the confidence of the Dauphin (prince) and led a French force against the English at Orleans in May 1st thru the 8th, 1429. It was due to her natural leadership and inspiration that her soldiers defeated the English at Orleans and later at the open field battle of Patay that June 17th, where over 2000 English soldiers were killed and a famous English commander, Lord John Talbot, was captured. Joan then conducted the Dauphin to Rheims in northern France, where he was crowned King Charles VII of France. Joan's military successes led eventually to the complete expulsion of the English from France by 1453, ending the Hundred Years' War. Joan was executed in a mock trial conducted by the English, who feared and hated Joan for having defeated them in battle and thwarting their attempts to conquer all of France. She was burnt at the stake on May 31, 1429, but this verdict was later reversed by the "Nullification Trial" of 1450 thru 1456 called for by Charles VII and the pope. She was made a saint in 1920.

Why did they burn Joan of Arc?

Joan of Arc had soundly defeated the English at the raising of the siege of Orleans in May, 1429 and at The Battle of Patay, where over 2000 English soldiers were killed that June. This prevented the English from gaining control over all of France and having Henry VI, their king, become the king of France, but rather Charles VII, who Joan had conducted to Rheims to be crowned. The English therefore feared and hated Joan, so that after she was captured by their ally, the Burgundians, who sold her to the English for 10,000 livres, they decided that they couldn't execute Joan for defeating them in battle, but they could get pro-English French clergy to try her for heresy. This mock trial was full of legal errors, Joan didn't even have a lawyer! All they could find against Joan was that she wore men's clothing, which was contrary to some obscure passage in The Bible. The reason Joan wore men's clothing on the battlefield was to wear armor to keep from being hurt and in prison she wore men's clothing to keep from being raped by her low class English guards. So Joan was burnt at the stake on May 30, 1431. 25 years later the pope ordered a review of this trial at the request of King Charles VII and so many errors were found in it, and that it had all been a "put up job by the hatred of the English" that Joan was found not guilty of heresy and the entire trial declared null in July, 1456.

How did Joan of Arc's methods differ from Charles VII on how to regain lost french territories?

Simply put, Joan of Arc's methods were straightforward and military, while Charles VII's focus was slower and more political. Joan's strategy was one of simply attacking the English until they went away, while Charles was far more concerned with the legitimacy of his reign and ending the conflict between his house and the Burgundians. After Charles was crowned, Joan didn't have the patience to wait for the political situation to improve, and went to attack the English in Paris, which failed. Charles, on the other hand, was so focused on reconciling with Burgundy that he squandered military opportunities in hopes that the Burgundians were ready to negotiate in good faith, which, at the time, they were not. Four years after Joan's death, Charles finally did reconcile with the Duke of Burgundy, breaking the Burgundian alliance with England and having the Duke recognize Charles' right to the throne. After that, he was much more aggressive at taking the fight to the English--perhaps not quite so much as Joan would have been, but he got the job done.
