Yes she was. When the book first was published people did not want to believe that Joan Crawford could really do the things written in the book. Afterwards many people came forward though and gave information that backed up Christinas recolections of most of the abuse written about in the book.
There has been reports from Crawford's other siblings' that this claim was untrue and with Miss Crawford now no longer here to defend herself that this could be many reasons why both Christoper and Christina didn't inherit anything. Christina also had many people back up her story to were the other sister's had people to back up there story. we may never know the truth but find it unfair with Crawford gone to know hear side of the story.
