No Kirsten was a american girl historical that came out in 1986, the doll of the year came out in 2001
No!
I wouldn't say that Cecile and Marie-Grace relpaced Kirsten per se, but their year is 1853, and Kirsten's year was 1854. So kind of ;) Although they don't have anything else in common.
I think it is going to be Molly, She came out the same year as Samantha and Kirsten so I'm thinking she is next to go.
She is from the USA. All of the American Girl dolls, with the exceptions of Kirsten and Josefina, are from America. Kirsten is immigrated from Sweden, and during Josefina's time (c. 1824) New Mexico was a part of Mexico.
Pleasant Company wasn't founded until 1986, and the first 3 dolls were Samantha, Kirsten and Molly.
Pleasant Company American Girl was founded in 1986. They came out with 3 dolls who were Kirsten Larson (now archived), Samantha Parkington (also archived), and Molly McIntire. Only Molly is still available as of July 2012.
